Battery Charge Indicators and LCD Battery Hour Meters

Know The Status of Your Batteries!

So the kids have been our riding around in the golf cart and now it's your turn.  Batteries seem a little weak?  With these gages you will know instantily if you are ready to play a round of golf.  The "Battery Charge Indicator" will let you know exactly the condition of your batteries.  The "Hour Meter" will tell you how much ride time you are getting out of your batteries. Don't like the idea of two separate gages, check out the combination "Battery Status/Hour Meter" gage.

LCD Hour Meter for Marine and Outdoor Applications. These hour meters are Water Proof

For use on any equipment where hours of operation want to be monitored such as cars, boats, trucks, generators, airplanes, heavy equipment, lawn tractors and others.

Battery Condition Indicator- TRI Color - 12-24-36-48 Volt Golf Cart, Boats an more.

Full Charge                          Low Charge                         Very Low Charge

  • Low level alarm.
  • Meter has relay that can be used to shutdown equipment to save the battery (limited to 3 amp circuit).

For use on any equipment where the battery status is important. This meter was primarily designed to prevent dead batteries.

Golf Carts - Don't get stuck out on the course. Know when to recharge your battery. When the meter starts flashing red and yellow, it is time to recharge the battery.

Boating applications - Many boaters will shut off the engine and continue to operate battery powered equipment such as radios, lights, radar, fish finders, microwave ovens, refrigerators and so on for extended periods of time. This Battery Condition Indicator may be used on any 12 volt DC system with a battery.

  • The battery meter has been designed to prevent not being able to start you engine when on the water. Most battery manufacturers consider a battery to be dead when the battery reaches 10.5 volts (for 12 volt batteries). When the battery discharges to 11.89 volts, there will still be approximately 300 cranking amps of power available to start an engine that is in good condition.
  • When the battery discharges below this level, it is doubtful that you will be able to start it without a jump start or recharging.
  • Battery Status
    • The battery meter has 10 LEDS that will light to show the battery condition. When fully charged, only the 10th LED will light shown a green LED.
    • As the battery discharges, successively lower LEDs will light; the 9th, 8th, 7th and so on lighting only 1 LED.
    • At approximately 12.09 volts, the #3 LED will light and the color is Yellow as a caution indicator.
    • At approximately 12.0 volts, the #2 LED will light as a Flashing Yellow.
    • When the battery discharges to approximately 11.9 volts, the #1 LED will start FLASHING RED with the #2 LED FLASHING Yellow alternately.

When used to monitor batteries connected to a charging system it is recommended to restart you engine when the #3 LED lights Yellow as a safety margin to prevent dead batteries.

  • Other: Once an engine has been restarted and the alternator or generator is putting out 13 volts DC or higher, the battery indicator will immediately reset to a fully charged state (10th LED light). It is important to run your engine for at least 20 minutes to recharge the battery.
  • After shutting off the engine, it will take approximately 160 seconds between each successive LED to be lit (decreasing) when connected to a fully or partially discharged battery. It can take up to 18 to 19 minutes to re-register the actual voltage it the battery voltage is down to ~12.09 volts or lower.

CAUTION: This is not a full proof device and no warranty is made that your engine will start. The battery voltages indicated above are a consensus of several major battery manufacturers. Faulty ignition systems, starter motors, engines needing a tune-up, bad fuel or other electrical problems may exist that will prevent you from starting the engine even when the battery indicator shows a charge state as high as the 7th LED.
